In Chuck Jones' "Drip-Along Daffy", "western-type hero" Daffy and "comedy relief" Porky set out to clean up a lawless western town. This film is another example of Daffy's desperate attempts to prove himself and failing. His entrance into the saloon shows that he is anything but the authorative sheriff he proclaims to be.
The fact that he is being completely ignored by the patrons does not deter Daffy from swaggering up to the bar in a cocky manner. His mood quickly shifts upon the arrival of Nasty Canasta, who is wanted dead or alive for the horrible crime of "square-dance calling".
Testing a volatile bar concoction on Porky does not stop Daffy from succumbing to its explosive effects.
A classic western showdown results in Porky taking down Canasta with a toy soldier and stealing the accolade from Daffy, who is reduced to "cleaning up this one-horse town" the old fashioned way.
